At Wheaton International Christian Academy, we adhere to the following Statement of Faith, which reflects our fundamental beliefs and values as a Christ-centred online educational institution:
We firmly believe that the entire Bible, comprising 66 books encompassing the Old and New Testaments, is directly inspired by God's words and remains without errors in its original writings. Guided by God, the Bible has been preserved as the singular dependable and authoritative guide for matters of faith and righteous living.
Our belief centres on the triune nature of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These aspects exist in eternal harmony and deserve equal worship and devotion.
We hold that Jesus Christ is divine, born of a virgin, lived sinlessly, died sacrificially on the cross, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven. He is the exclusive path to salvation, providing forgiveness and reconciliation through faith in Him.
We understand salvation as a gift freely given by God, accessible to all through faith in Jesus Christ. This salvation cannot be earned through good deeds or human endeavours; it is received solely by God's unmerited favour.
We affirm the active presence and influence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. The Spirit convicts, comforts, empowers, and guides us on our spiritual journey.
Our belief acknowledges that all humans are made in God's image but have become sinners in need of redemption due to the fall. Sin separates us from God, and reconciliation is only possible through faith in Christ.
We maintain that salvation is God's gift to those who are lost and have committed wrongdoing. It's not based on our actions; rather, it's a gift from God. This transformation is facilitated by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit and is received solely through faith in Jesus Christ, His finished work on the cross, and His resurrection from the dead.
Our belief encompasses the universal Church, comprising all believers, as well as local churches, which are communities of believers gathered for worship, fellowship, and mission.
We believe that God established the family as society's foundation. Families consist of individuals connected by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage involves a committed partnership between one man and one woman. We also believe that parents and homes hold the vital responsibility of raising children according to God's teachings. When the home, church, and school collaborate and agree on essential life principles, children receive a consistent and well-rounded education.
We hold that followers of Christ are called to lead lives of holiness, pursuing righteousness, love, and service. Our aim is to mirror Christ's attitudes and actions.
We anticipate the imminent return of Jesus Christ. His return will entail judgement and the establishment of God's ultimate kingdom.
We emphasise the Great Commission issued by Jesus to disciple all nations. We are committed to spreading the Gospel and educating others about Christ's love and grace.
As a community of learners and believers, we uphold these foundational truths, incorporating them into every facet of our academic and spiritual pursuits. Our objective is to foster students' intellectual growth while cultivating a profound and transformative relationship with Jesus Christ.
